Lucknow / Unnao: Taking a big step in the field of higher education, the Yogi government has approved the establishment of Chandigarh University in Unnao district. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay handed over the authorization letter for the establishment of Chandigarh University to the representatives of Chandigarh University (CU) International Educational Trust, Chandigarh at the Secretariat.
It is noteworthy that the proposal to establish Chandigarh University in Unnao under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was approved by the Cabinet by circulation. With this decision of the Yogi government, the students of the state will get the benefit of high quality education.
This new campus of Chandigarh University will be established along the Lucknow-Kanpur highway, which will prove to be a golden opportunity for the students of Unnao and surrounding districts. This university will be established under the private sector on 63.53 acres of land in village Padsandan, Pargana Gorinda Parsandan, Tehsil Hasanganj in Unnao district.
After handing over the authorization letter for the establishment of Chandigarh University on Thursday, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that this decision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government will prove to be revolutionary in the field of higher education in the state. This will not only provide high quality education to the students of the state, but it will also write a new chapter in the field of education in the state.
He informed that the Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is constantly striving to improve and expand the field of higher education. The establishment of Chandigarh University in Unnao will prove to be a new chapter in the education world of the state. This will increase competition and quality in the field of higher education in the state, which will bring employment and better future opportunities for the youth of Uttar Pradesh. Chandigarh

The notification has been issued by Special Secretary Girijesh Kumar Tyagi on September 19, 2024 addressing the Secretary / Chairman of CU International Educational Trust. Accordingly, under the private sector, the name of ‘Chandigarh University, Unnao’ has been included at number 45 in Schedule-2 of the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019 under the Uttar Pradesh Private University (Seventh Amendment) Ordinance, 2024.
Along with this, permission has also been granted to operate Chandigarh University Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Under this notification, the university has received official recognition from the state government. Also, the university is expected to operate the university under the conditions mentioned in the authorization letter.
