Lucknow: In a remarkable display of endurance and discipline, 986 women recruit constables of the Lucknow Police participated in a 10-kilometre cross-country march, reinforcing the message of women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and professional excellence.
The event was organized under the directives of the Training Directorate of Uttar Pradesh Police and inspired by Police Commissioner Amarendra Kumar Sengar. The initiative reflects the Commissionerate’s commitment to strengthening women’s participation in modern policing.
Grand Inauguration
The cross-country run was formally flagged off by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime & Headquarters) Aparna Kumar, in the presence of senior officers and police personnel. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from women recruits undergoing foundational training at Kalli West Police Lines and IT Police Lines.
Endurance, Discipline and Determination
All 986 women recruits completed the challenging 10-km course within the stipulated time, demonstrating exceptional physical fitness, mental resilience, and team spirit. The march was conducted as part of their basic training curriculum, aimed at building stamina, courage, discipline, and operational preparedness.
Modern policing demands quick response capabilities, long working hours, and the ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations. Officials emphasized that such physically demanding exercises are essential in preparing recruits for real-world challenges.


Outstanding Performers Honoured
Ten women recruits delivered exceptional performances and received special commendation. The top performers included Palak Mishra, Vandana Saroj, Sonali Chauhan, Shalini Singh, Roshni Yadav, Geeta Yadav, Khushboo, Deepika Mishra Rani, and Aanchal Gaur. They were felicitated with cash awards by Joint Commissioner Aparna Kumar in recognition of their dedication and excellence.
All successful participants were appreciated for their hard work and commitment to the department, marking an inspiring beginning to their policing careers.
