Officer’s Training College (OTC) is a training establishment located at AMC Centre and College, Lucknow for training of Medical, Dental and Nursing officers of all three services- Army, Navy and Air Force in military medicine, administration and military leadership. The young doctors, dentists and nurses joining the Armed Forces are trained to become officers and leaders of men; the ‘shoulders behind the soldiers’.
The present Officers Training College (OTC) took its origin from the Officers Training Wing (OTW) which was raised on 1st November 1957 as part of the AMC Centre Lucknow. After the Chinese aggression, during 1962, another OTW was raised at AMC Centre (South), Secunderabad.
Subsequently, both these wings were amalgamated into the OTW at AMC Centre Lucknow. The OTW was later upgraded to the Officers Training School (OTS) on 9th August 1969 and assigned the status of Category ‘A’ component of AMC Centre which was re-designated as OTC on 16th November 2009.
