Teams of various countries compete with amazing talents to grab maximum medals
Lucknow: The third day of the four-day International Young Mathematicians’ Convention (IYMC-2025), organized by City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus I, proved to be extremely exciting and action-packed. The CMS Kanpur Road Campus turned into a “Global Village,” where young mathematicians from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam, and various states of India displayed their mathematical brilliance in a series of fascinating and intellectually stimulating competitions such as Robot Soccer, Math Jingle, Robot Race, Math Quiz, and Puzzle Challenge. Alongside these contests, students also attended a Math Workshop and explored innovative mathematical concepts at the Math Fair. It is noteworthy that IYMC-2025 is being held at the CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium from 3rd to 6th November.
Under IYMC-2025, the day’s competitions began with the thrilling MechaTurf League (Robot Soccer) in the senior category, where participants presented a spectacular battle between self-designed robots. In this contest, one robot acted as the goalkeeper while the other played the striker offering a truly engaging spectacle. Likewise, the Numeric Jazz (Math Jingle) competition in the junior category was equally captivating. Each team, comprising three students, composed and performed their own math-based songs or poems that mesmerized the audience. The Robo Grand Prix (Robot Race) also drew great enthusiasm as students’ self-built robots competed on challenging tracks filled with twists, turns, and slopes, offering an exhilarating view of creativity and engineering skill.
The Math Quest (Quiz) competition for the senior category was another highlight of the day. Conducted in two rounds, the preliminary written round was followed by a final round for the selected teams. Each team collaborated to solve complex mathematical problems covering topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and other branches of mathematics. The contestants impressed everyone with their sharp understanding and innovative problem-solving skills. Similarly, in the Crack the Code (Puzzle Challenge), students displayed extraordinary strategic thinking, mathematical reasoning, logical ability, and problem-solving prowess.

Apart from the competitions, a special Cultural Evening was organized for participants and team leaders from India and abroad. On this occasion, students from different countries presented their traditional folk dances, delighting and captivating the audience with their colorful and rhythmic performances.
Rishi Khanna, Head of Communications, CMS, informed that the International Young Mathematicians’ Convention is heading toward its grand conclusion.
