33rd National Congress of Parasitology Inaugurated at CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow

Lucknow:  The prestigious 33rd National Congress of Parasitology (NCP-2025) was inaugurated today at the CSIR–Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, marking the Golden Jubilee of the Indian Society for Parasitology (ISP) and 75 years of excellence of CSIR-CDRI. The three-day national scientific congress will continue from 26 to 28 November 2025 on the theme “Recent Advances in Parasite Biology and Drug Discovery.”

Dignitaries and Inaugural Ceremony
The program began with the release of the abstract book, followed by the welcome address by Dr. Radha Rangarajan, Director, CSIR-CDRI and Chairperson of NCP-2025.
The gathering was addressed by Dr. A.M. Khan, President, ISP, and Dr. Satish Mishra, Secretary, ISP & Convener, NCP-2025.

The Inaugural Lecture was delivered by Prof. N.K. Ganguly, Former Director General, ICMR, highlighting national priorities in parasitic disease control. A special invited lecture was delivered by Dr. Bhupendra Tripathi, Gates Foundation, New Delhi, on global health strategies.

Participation and Scientific Deliberation

The congress has brought together leading scientists, clinicians, veterinary experts, academicians, industry leaders and young researchers from across India. Scientific deliberations during the congress focus on drug discovery, parasite biology, immunology, diagnostics, vector control, and emerging technologies.
