120 Young Athletes Participate in District-Level Boxing and Judo Competitions in Lucknow

Lucknow: District-level junior boys’ and girls’ sports competitions were organised in Lucknow on March 12, 2026, under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Sports and the Regional Sports Office. The events included boxing and judo competitions, held at the K. D. Singh Babu Stadium and the Halwasiya Judo Academy.

The boxing competition was inaugurated by Rajesh Kumar Gaur, Deputy Sports Officer. Around 120 boys and girls from different academies and institutions participated enthusiastically in the event. The winners and runners-up were felicitated by Dr. Atul Sinha, Regional Sports Officer, Lucknow.

In the boys’ categories, Haider Ullah from Champion Boxing Academy won the 28–30 kg event, followed by Tej Pratap, while Shaurya Kumar and Mohd. Hamza finished third. In the 33–35 kg category, Karan from Josh Academy secured first place and Mayank from Modern Academy finished second.

Aviral Gupta from KD Singh Stadium won the 35–37 kg category with Achman Shukla finishing second. In the 37–40 kg category, Aarav Dhanuk from Champion Boxing Academy claimed the top position, while Unnati Gupta finished second.

In the 46–50 kg event, Balmukund from KD Singh Stadium secured first place, followed by Agrim Verma of CMS Station Road. Swayam Pratap Singh from KD Singh Stadium won the 56–60 kg category, while Aryan Rai finished second.

In the 60–64 kg category, Divyansh Singh emerged as the winner, while Sujit Singh finished second. Several players from academies such as The Fight Club, Modern Academy, and Champion Boxing Academy secured third positions across categories.

Meanwhile, the junior boys’ and girls’ judo competition was inaugurated by Munawwar Anzar, General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Judo Association. The judo matches were still underway at the time of issuing the press note, and the final results will be announced later.

Officials also announced that the next district-level competitions will be held on March 14, 2026, including a badminton tournament at Vijayant Khand Stadium and a Sepak Takraw competition at Lucknow Public School, Sector-9, Vrindavan, Lucknow.
