11-Storey Residential Complex for Police Personnel Coming Up in Varanasi

Varanasi: In a major welfare initiative aimed at improving living conditions for police personnel, the Uttar Pradesh Police is developing a modern multi-storey residential complex at the Police Lines in Varanasi. The project will provide 2BHK flats to police personnel and their families, addressing long-standing housing shortages.

According to Police Commissioner Mohan Agrawal, the building will consist of ground plus 11 floors, accommodating a total of 192 Type-2 flats. The project is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹26.74 crore (₹2674.64 lakh) and is expected to significantly ease accommodation challenges faced by police staff.

Designed with modern amenities, the residential complex will include dedicated parking for 192 vehicles, a sewage treatment plant (STP), green spaces, and an independent water supply system through a tube well. Spread across approximately 22,836 square metres, the project emphasizes environmental sustainability along with comfortable living.

Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for police personnel by ensuring safe and dignified housing for their families. Improved residential facilities are also expected to boost morale among the force, contributing to more efficient policing and strengthened law and order.

The project is part of broader efforts by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to prioritize the welfare of security personnel while reinforcing public safety infrastructure.
