100 Kg Marijuana Seized, One Smuggler Arrested in Varanasi

Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh: In a major operation, a joint team of the SOG (Special Operations Group) and local police in Varanasi has arrested a smuggler and seized 100 kg of illegal marijuana.

The arrest was made in the Rohania police station area of Varanasi, where police acted on confidential information.

The arrested accused has been identified as Sanjay Dubey (30), a resident of Rohtas district, Bihar.

A large quantity of marijuana was recovered from the accused, with an estimated market value of millions of rupees.

Action Taken on Confidential Information Police had received prior intelligence that a large consignment of marijuana was to be transported through Varanasi to Bihar. Based on this information, the SOG and Rohania Police Station formed a joint team and set up a cordon in the area.

Security personnel who arrived at the scene conducted a search operation and arrested Sanjay Dubey with the marijuana.

Further Action Underway The police are currently interrogating the arrested accused to determine who and where this large consignment of marijuana was to be supplied. Investigations are also underway to identify other individuals involved in this smuggling operation.

The police are now investigating the network associated with marijuana trafficking, and it is expected that other members of this gang will be arrested soon.
