1.48 Crore Children Salute the National Flag Together in Over 1.32 Lakh Schools Across Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Uttar Pradesh, as over 1.48 crore children from more than 1.32 lakh council and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) came together to salute the national flag. School premises across the state echoed with patriotic songs and cultural programs, replacing the usual classroom lessons with the tunes of the National Anthem and Vande Mataram.

From early morning, primary, upper primary, composite schools, and KGBVs in every corner of the state were filled with the spirit of freedom. Decorated with colorful flags and vibrant themes, the campuses became hubs of national pride. The celebrations were not only a tribute to the freedom fighters but also a reaffirmation of the collective commitment to build a strong, self-reliant, and developed India through education, values, and skills.

KGBV Girls Lead the Frontline of Nation-Building
Across all KGBVs, girl students performed patriotic songs, poems, dances, skits, and flag rallies, spreading the message that daughters are at the forefront of education and nation-building.

Independence Day Becomes a Festival of Social Unity
In council schools, children brought alive the history of the independence movement and the tales of freedom fighters through rallies, debates, sports events, and cultural programs. The participation of parents and villagers transformed the occasion into a grand festival of social harmony.

Celebrations at the Directorate, SCERT, and SIET
At the Basic Education Directorate, Director Pratap Singh Baghel hoisted the national flag and paid homage to the martyrs. He emphasized that education is not only a means of spreading knowledge but also the strongest tool for nation-building. Messages from Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh and School Education Director General Kanchan Verma were also read.

At the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Director Ganesh Kumar hoisted the flag and honored the sacrifices of freedom fighters. He stressed the importance of providing quality and value-based education, calling it “the soul of democracy.”

Meanwhile, at the State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET), the day was celebrated with a focus on innovation and technical education. Educators resolved to make teaching more effective and engaging through the use of modern technology.

The celebrations reflected a unified vision—under the shade of the tricolor, the laughter of children symbolized the bright future of the nation.
