₹4992.62 Lakh Projects Sanctioned for Beautification and Development Works in Mythological Chitrakoot

Tourist Facilitation Center to be Built in Sonbhadra District – Jaiveer Singh

Lucknow: The Tourism Department has sanctioned three projects worth ₹4992.62 lakh for the development of various religious sites and temples in Chitrakoot district under the financial year 2024-25. Chitrakoot is a historical city with numerous ancient sites, attracting tourists throughout the year. Lord Rama is believed to have resided here for a long period during his exile, and the region is home to many religious places associated with Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita. The Tourism Department has decided to create basic infrastructure in all districts of the state to attract tourists.

This information was provided by the state’s Tourism and Culture Minister,  Jaiveer Singh. He stated that under the Teerth Vikas Parishad (Pilgrimage Development Council), a project worth ₹2044.37 lakh has been sanctioned for the cultural and urban rejuvenation and tourism development of basic facilities along the Kamadgiri Parikrama Marg (circumambulation route) for the convenience of devotees. Similarly, ₹1192.58 lakh has been approved for the construction of a tourist facilitation center/dormitory at the main stopover point of the Ram Van Gaman Marg (Lord Rama’s forest route), and ₹1755.67 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of a tourist facilitation center/dormitory at Devangana Ghati on the border near Chitrakoot Airport.

 Jaiveer Singh further informed that a project worth ₹875.33 lakh has also been approved for the construction of a Tourist Facilitation Center in Sonbhadra district. The implementing agencies for these projects have been finalized, and necessary government orders have also been issued.
