Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Culture Department has approved eight new projects worth ₹43.63 crore for the development, renovation and beautification of public Ramleela grounds across Lucknow for the financial year 2025–26.
Sharing details, Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the initiative aims to restore the cultural significance of traditional Ramleela sites, including the historic Aishbagh Ramleela Maidan, which will be developed to revive its past glory.
Projects include construction of boundary walls at Ramleela grounds in Sisendi, Hilgi and Barvaliya villages under Mohanlalganj Vidhan Sabha area. Funds have also been allocated for infrastructure upgrades at the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, and other cultural centres.

Additionally, work on façade lighting, repairs, and cultural museum design has been sanctioned. The minister noted that improved law and order and connectivity have boosted tourism, with the government focusing on strengthening cultural heritage and transforming Lucknow into a major tourism hub.
