Bareilly: A grand felicitation ceremony was organised by the Ministerial Staff Association and the Class IV Employees Council of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, to welcome newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Professor Anil Kumar Rai following his assumption of office.
The programme was held at the Association Auditorium on the first floor of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. It brought together university officials, employees and representatives of various staff organisations to formally welcome the new Vice-Chancellor and express their commitment to supporting the university’s academic and administrative growth.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Ministerial Staff Association president Raj Bahadur welcomed Professor Rai by presenting him with a bouquet and draping a shawl around him. Other office-bearers of the association and representatives of the Class IV Employees Council also felicitated the Vice-Chancellor and extended their greetings.
University Finance Officer Vinod Kumar, Controller of Examinations Dr Anil Kumar Yadav and Registrar Mahendra Singh delivered the welcome addresses. They expressed confidence that Professor Rai’s leadership and vision would contribute significantly to the university’s further development.
Addressing the employees, Professor Rai stressed the importance of collective effort in taking the university forward. He said that coordinated and united efforts by all members of the university community would help the institution progress continuously.
The Vice-Chancellor also emphasised the need for balance and restraint in dealing with differences. He said that decisions taken in the larger interest of students should remain the university’s foremost priority, describing students as the institution’s “greatest asset.”
Professor Rai also spoke about the importance of positivity, happiness and mutual cooperation in professional and personal life. He encouraged employees to rise above individual considerations and strengthen the spirit of collective responsibility.
Quoting the Vedic philosophy of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah”, meaning “May everyone be happy,” he urged the university community to embrace simplicity, openness and mutual goodwill. He said that creating a positive atmosphere begins with individuals making an effort to remain approachable, balanced and cooperative.
The Vice-Chancellor further highlighted the importance of helping children become self-reliant and encouraged employees to maintain a positive outlook throughout life. He observed that while physical abilities may decline with age, experience, wisdom and intellectual maturity can continue to grow and should be used constructively.
Concluding his address, Professor Rai appealed to all employees to discharge their responsibilities with honesty, dedication and a strong sense of duty. He said that disciplined and committed employees were essential to building an efficient and progressive university.
The programme was conducted by Ranjit Singh and Hitesh Teekha. Deputy Registrar Mamta Singh, Sunita Yadav, Assistant Registrar Lakhpat Ram Bhandari, Ministerial Staff Association president Raj Bahadur, Ram Preet, Mahesh Chand Joshi, Sudhakar Maurya, Tapan Kumar Verma and Sudhanshu Sharma were among those present, along with a large number of university officers and employees.
The ceremony reflected the spirit of unity and camaraderie within the university community and marked the beginning of a new phase of collective engagement under the leadership of Professor Anil Kumar Rai.
