Bareilly: Shikha Gangwar, a student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Bithri Chainpur, was felicitated by the Joint Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar), Bareilly, for winning a bronze medal at a national-level Taekwondo competition held in Ludhiana.
Shikha was honoured for her impressive performance at the national championship, where she secured the bronze medal and brought recognition to both her district and school.

Congratulating the young athlete, the SDM praised her dedication and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence in sports. She was also urged to inspire other girl students to take up sporting activities and pursue their talents with confidence.
The SDM highlighted the importance of sports in the overall development of students, saying participation in athletics and competitive games helps young people develop discipline, self-confidence, leadership qualities and team spirit.

She added that achievements such as Shikha’s serve as an inspiration for other students, particularly girls, demonstrating that determination and hard work can help them excel at the highest levels.
Teachers and other members of the school community also congratulated Shikha and wished her continued success in future competitions.
The felicitation ceremony recognised not only the student’s sporting achievement but also underscored the importance of encouraging girls to participate in sports and providing them opportunities to develop their skills and compete at state and national levels.
