Lucknow: In a chilling display of lawlessness, a group of armed miscreants stormed into a residence in the Faridipur area under Dubagga police station limits in Lucknow, assaulting the occupants and firing multiple gunshots, creating widespread panic in the locality.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants barged into the house of a local youth named Sanu, mercilessly thrashing him before attacking other family members with sticks and rods. As the situation escalated, the attackers fired four rounds in the air, spreading fear among the residents and triggering chaos in the neighborhood.
Sanu’s family alleged that they repeatedly tried to contact the Dubagga police station during the attack, but received no response. “We called multiple times, but no one answered. We felt completely helpless,” said a family member, visibly shaken from the ordeal.
Local residents expressed their growing concern over the rising audacity of anti-social elements in the area, accusing the police of inaction and negligence. “These goons create ruckus almost every day. Due to police indifference, their confidence has soared, and today’s brazen attack is proof of that,” said a neighbor.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with demands for immediate police action and increased patrolling in the area. No official statement has been released by the police so far regarding arrests or investigation status.
Residents are now urging senior officials to take swift action to restore a sense of security in the community.
