Vadodara: Vadodara witnessed an accident in early hours, near Fatehgunj bridge road, leaving one young woman dead and another in critical condition battling for her life. The victims identified as Kajal Kachwah resident of Madya Pradesh and Romaben Vanjani resident of Chaturbhai complex on Varasia ring road.
They were returning home from their night shift at AIS office located in the Alembic premises, at around 4 am when the incident occurred.
The two were riding on a scooter, when a speeding unidentified vehicle hit them. Due to impact, Kajal died on the spot while Roma sustained multiple injuries and is in critical condition at Bhai Lal Amin hospital. Roma was reportedly dragged for 500 meters by the suspect vehicle.
This leads to the question of working women’s safety on Vadodara roads, especially during late hours. Similar incidents have been reported in the past but no actions have been taken by authorities and companies who should be providing transport and security to women employees.
