Illegal Hookah Bar Busted at ‘The Dollar Café’ in Lucknow, 6 Arrested

Lucknow: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, police from Aliganj Police Station, under the Lucknow Police Commissionerate (North Zone), raided an illegally operated hookah bar at “The Dollar Café” in Sector-F, Aliganj, arresting six individuals and recovering hookahs, pipes, and flavored tobacco being served without proper authorization.

The Raid

During routine patrolling near Burma Bakery, the police team received a tip-off from an informant that an unauthorized hookah bar was operating inside The Dollar Café. Acting swiftly, the team reached the location and discovered 12 hookahs in active use and 20 hookah pipes with flavored substances being illegally served to customers.

Six Accused Arrested

The police arrested the following six individuals who were involved in the illegal operation:

  1. Shadik (22), son of Ishtiyaq, resident of Bhithouli Khurd, Thana Madiyaon

  2. Mohd. Tausif (21), son of Mohd. Ahmad, resident of Ashfaqulla Nagar, Thana Madeyganj

  3. Rehan (19), son of Zahid, resident of Ashfaqulla Nagar, Thana Madeyganj

  4. Mohd. Tayyab (25), son of Mohd. Ahmad, resident of Ashfaqulla Nagar, Thana Madeyganj

  5. Mohd. Jait (19), son of Mohd. Saleem, resident of Triveni Nagar-2, Thana Aliganj

  6. Aryan alias Karan (23), son of Ayodhya Prasad Rawat, resident of Tilak Bihar, Thana Madeyganj

All the accused are reported to be laborers by profession and were arrested after being informed of their offenses.

Key Accused Escapes

The alleged owner and operator of the hookah bar, Bilal, son of Mohd. Ahmad, resident of Ashfaqulla Nagar, managed to flee from the spot. Police have initiated efforts to apprehend him soon.

Crime Modus Operandi

According to initial investigations, the accused misled customers by falsely claiming to have a valid license to operate a hookah bar. They allegedly served hookahs mixed with intoxicating flavors, putting patrons’ health and safety at risk.

Seizure Details

  • 14 hookahs with pipes and flavored tobacco were seized from the scene.
